I have been doing web briefs and calendar work most of the day.
Major assignments have been handed in.

Chrysler getting "owned"

Not to dump on this latest plan, but Vale and Xstrata bought Inco and Falconbridge out, and they are still laying off workers.

Also, if Ontario taxpayers own a 2% stake in Chrysler, does that mean we all get a 2% discount on their cars?

Packers fans don't get discounts, and 100,000 of them own their team.
What a waste.

week 4 day 4

Some of my stories have been posted and have been commented on.
I'm eagerly awaiting tonight, so that I can complete the big one I'm working on about bottled water. The scope of this article seems massive to me.

Seems like there is a lot to do today.
Wrote a report about an incident in Espanola, did a couple phone interviews, and still working on my bottled water story. Lots of community postings.

EDIT: My stories are handed in and being edited right now. I did get a lot done this morning, which made me feel like I was accomplishing something. I even got to write a story about an incident in Espanola. That shows me how far-reaching our coverage is. I'm actually excited to go to the bottled water discussion group tomorrow night, because I am eager to get both sides of this story, and as the guy from the bottled water industry said, he can only provide me with one side.

week 4 day 2

Finished a couple of my stories and submitted them for the paper.
Working on getting in contact with speakers coming to Sudbury for a conference on bottled water.
Got some tips on how to better my video work.

Saw one of my stories in the real paper today. I even got an email back from the guy I interviewed for it. I'm glad he liked it.

Did another story this morning, with video footage. I'm hoping it turns out well.

Working on a couple that are hanging around still.

Doing more postings, writing web briefs, and working on stories to hopefully get them into the paper.

A little worried, but that's normal for me.

Just trying to listen and do what I am told to do.

EDIT: Some stories that I thought were dead in the water were given life again. I was asked to get more photos for them.

During an assignment today, I got an opportunity to reflect on my own self.
This was the most uplifting moment all day, as I was able to come to a conclusion about why I am the way I am.

Today I posted a few community events and found out information from the Easter Seals Society about their recent telethon.

Following up on and trying to finish my story for deadline.

EDIT: One source did not get back to me in time. Had to go with what I had.
I'm a little disappointed, but in hindsight think that there were steps I could have taken to get the information sooner.

Continuing to work on whatever they can give to me.

Just noticed that some of the briefs that I have been writing made it into Tuesday's paper. They don't have my name on them, but I feel good for getting something in nonetheless.

Continuing to do community postings, waiting for word on my stories as they get finished.

Edit: Afternoon, working on a local news story to do with environmental initiatives in the community.
